This photograph of the northern end of the Trotternish Peninsula was taken from Bealach nan Coiseachan (The Pass of the Walkers), an old route which linked the townships of Staffin and Uig. The coastline between Staffin and Portree comprises high sea cliffs, the most amazing of which is the Kilt Rock, whose basaltic cliffs resemble the pleats of a kilt.
