Loch Etive is without doubt one of Scotland's most beautiful sea-lochs, extending from Connel north of Oban well into the mountains of Glen Etive. There is an abundance of Celtic legend attached to the area, revolving around Deirdre of the Sorrows. It is not unusual in this remote glen to see eagles and buzzards soaring in the skies, deer on the mountain ridges, and Atlantic grey seals. A number of small islets lie off Inverliever Bay, and are used by colonies of these seals, one of which is pictured in the foreground.
