Glen Noe from Loch Etive

Glen Noe from Loch Etive

Glen Noe is traditionally the homeland of the Clan MacIntyre.  This photograph was taken from Loch Etive and looks over the glen towards the peaks of Ben Cruachan.  The MacIntyres were the Foresters of Lorn, and it is said that their rent to the Campbells included a cask of wine encased in a snowball collected from the northern corries of Ben Cruachan and a white calf, to be paid annually on Midsummer's Day.
