Crinan Canal at Cairnbaan

Crinan Canal at Cairnbaan

The Crinan Canal was constructed between 1793 and 1801, providing shipping from Loch Fyne with quick access to the Atlantic and  the west coast islands via the Sound of Jura.  The canal is nine miles long and this photograph shows its eastern end at Cairnbaan, near the town of Ardrishaig where the canal joins Loch Gilp.

A print of this costs $25 (£16)
