Lying on the Ardnamurchan Peninsula, translating from Gaelic as "the Point of the Great Ocean", this most westerly point of mainland Britain, extends 23 miles further into the Atlantic Ocean than Land's End.  This scene, looking across Ardtoe beach, shows the Sgurr of Eigg in the distance.
