This photograph shows the
Cluanie Inn in winter colour, lying between the northwest coast and the Great
Glen. It has always been a popular trade route. Once a "Cattle
Stance", West Highland and Hebridean drovers rested here overnight. The
word "Cluanie" in Gaelic means "meadow". The mountain passes
to the north of Cluanie allow access to one of the most beautiful and wild glens
in Scotland - Glen Affric. |
