Culross Mercat Cross stands in the centre of this beautifully restored little Fife town, standing on Torry Bay. The houses are beautifully painted and surmounted by red pantile roofs, this particular commodity having been imported from Baltic countries, with whom Scotland had long-established trading links. This Sixteenth-Seventeenth Century architecture has many distinctive features. |
