This photograph was taken close to Glencoe village, site of a most despicable massacre in 1692 by government troops and members of the Clan Campbell, who had enjoyed their hosts' hospitality for two weeks before the order was given. The whole event would be classified nowadays as mass murder. Animosity still exists between Clan MacDonald and Clan Campbell. |
