After 360 years of Roman rule, the Romans finally left Britain in AD 407 in order to defend Rome.  One year later, the Visigoths were to lay siege to Rome.  The Romans were master builders, and left behind many artefacts which were to last for centuries, this Roman bridge remains as a tribute to their civil engineering skills.
