Rob Roy MacGregor, who died in 1734 at Inverlochlarig, is buried with his wife and two sons in Balquhidder Kirk Yard. This well-known Highland outlaw was immortalised by Sir Walter Scott in his novel of the same name. The surrounding countryside is clan MacLaren territory.
