The present Linlithgow Palace was rebuilt by James I in 1424. James V and his daughter, Mary, Queen of Scots, were both born here. The last Scottish Parliament met here in 1646. The Palace was burned by Hawley's troops in 1746. This photograph was taken from the west and presents a splendid panorama of both the Palace with St. Michael's Church to the right. |
