This is the only complete mediaeval cathedral in Scotland, replacing an older cathedral between 1123 and 1136, but burnt down in 1196, although part of the original crypt of 1197 still exists.  The St. Mungo museum is situated nearby, and covers all aspects of Glasgow's religious life.  Glasgow's oldest house, Provand's Lordship, also stands nearby.
