Dunblane Cathedral dominates the ancient town which lies on the Allan Water. In 1715 a battle took place two and a half miles east of the town, between the Pretender's forces and the Earl of Mar. This battle is commemorated by the Gathering Stone of the clans.  This photograph looks from the altar along the length of the cathedral.
