Castle Sween

Castle Sween

Castle Sween has its origins in the 12th century, and the current remains were due to the ravages of Colkitto MacDonald, the Scots-Irish lieutenant of the Marquis of Montrose.  This remarkable structure stands imposingly on the eastern shore of Loch Sween, Knapdale.
