Burleigh Castle, the seat of Balfour of Burleigh, lies close to the town of Milnathort, Kinross.  The older tower is early 16th century, and was adjoined by a curtain wall, the whole surrounded by a moat.  The newer tower (photographed) is unusual in that the tower is circular at the base, surmounted by a square cap-house.  The Castle has a fascinating history of murder, intrigue and romance.
