This castle was built by the Dalyell family in the Seventeenth Century, and is still owned by them. Tam Dalyell being a prominent parliamentarian. General Tam Dalyell, ancestor of the current owner, commanded an army for the King during the Civil War. The castle contains many relics of the regiment founded by "Bluidy Tam", the Royal Scots Greys. |
