Amisfield Tower

Amisfield Tower

Amisfield Tower was built in 1600 by a member of the Anglo-Norman Charteris family, who had been associated with the Dumfriesshire village since the 12th Century. The tower is a striking example of an old keep, having many turrets and ornamentations surmounted by a cap-house. There is also a Victorian mansionhouse adjacent to the Tower and both are currently occupied.
