The Grey Mare's Tail is one of Scotland's highest waterfalls, plunging some 200 feet from Loch Skene to the valley floor and eventually into the Moffat Water. Nearby is the "Devil's Beeftub" as mentioned by Sir Walter Scott in "Redgauntlet". The area abounds in tales of the Border Reivers. |
