This area covers the southernmost part of Scotland, lying between the Forth and Clyde valleys and the English border. It is essentially an area of rolling hills, quite diverse in scenic beauty, and considered by some to be the Highlands in miniature. The turbulent history of the area is witnessed by the numerous Border Keeps and tales of Border Reivers are legendary.
